The Official 2026 Off-Season Thread: Revenge of the Nerds

I want to keep Robertson but only because he has no trade value and Utah would have no interest in him for Hayton. Give him a year with an offensive minded coach and his trade value should soar.

Skeptical about his actual upside, he's 25 in September, are we gonna keep treating him like a prospect till he's 40? But I do think he'll be better under a new coach.

I feel like he never got a real opportunity. Everything has always been just hanging by a thread, every year. One mistake, to the pressbox. Like Cowan, the only good string of games he got was after the deadline when they had no one else to play. But that was garbage time, half the team injured or gone, the cloud of Biff hanging over them. Really want to see him with a new coach and on the second line. Cowan can be on the third this season.

Unlike McMann, Marchment and some others before him, he's actually been given a real shot, playing 203 games in his last 3 years. I just wish they gave him a look on Auston's wing at any fucking point.. but in general he's been given a real shot imo. If he was really that good, he would have differentiated himself way more than he has by now.

He's fine, just fine scoring depth, but pretty limited beyond that.

I wanna see him with a new coach before I dump him tho. If it's more of the same, then I'm over it, and would be fine trading him if his value can be recouped to some degree.
 
But even if this is all he is, it’s really good scoring depth, speed, shot, for a small cap hit. It’s exactly the kind of guy we need more of in the bottom six.
