Oh, you for sure try and ship Knies++ to do it
.
But let's not pretend the Leafs can't put together an extremely competitive offer for him.
Yeah, that might very well be the case. Certainly trending that way.I mean the only real roadblock to the leafs acquiring Werenski is that he probably doesn't want to play in Canada. And that's enough to be bearish on the possibility probably.
But let's not pretend the Leafs can't put together an extremely competitive offer for him.
I know if i was Werenski and i was going to extend with the Leafs i would need to see a matching one for Auston before i even considered it.
“We should try to get him”
Whatever I'll say will get a "no chance, you're delusional" response. But beyond Jason Robertson, I'm not sure many guys could put forth a player as attractive as Knies as the centerpiece. A 23 year old power forward with many years of control on a nice contract for a guy leaving in 2 years is tidy work for columbus.

You can toss whatever combination of Cowan, Danford, Avs 1st, 2nd rounders, etc etc you want on top of Knies. I'm not in the business of pretending that this wouldn't be one of the better offers that they'd receive. But Werenski will have like 6 American teams on his list and if he's traded, he'll go for less than that.
Knies + Danford + 2027 1st (Col) + 2026 2nd (Buff) + 2027 2nd (CBJ)
Are we supposed to pretend that this is a better offer?McTavish, McQueen, 2 Firsts.

No i was agreeing that he'd go for something worse, and this was it.Are we supposed to pretend that this is a better offer?
