That's the kind of thing i would focus on if I was named GM of a team tomorrow. My roster might have holes but I would make it my personal project to acquire all 32 third round picks in 2030...so I could stand at the podium for an hour and a half drafting 32 analytic darlings in a row.

Or you could win the lottery and spend the exact amount of time announcing your first overall pick
 
Werenski is a leaf if he puts a gun to CBJ’s head that he wants to come here. Pizza boy didn’t leave the team with enough to beat out a lot of those other rumoured teams.

Watching the Avs and Minnie - would be amazing to have an impact #1 dman that can take over the game for 25-30 min a night. Don’t have high hopes we can make it happen, but fuck that would be a game changer to have a true #1 C and D with adequate three goalies behind them.
 
Does that make it more or less likely that he'll be traded?

Obviously their talks broke down, but now he can't field other offers.
 
I mean before the arbitration, for them to decide to trade him off rather than go through with it.

Wasn't there some rule about the team needing to keep the player for a year after the arbitration or something like that?
