Even as someone with zero respect or affection for the Frosty Fuckwit, I don’t really care much one way or another about any of these firings.

If he wants to bring in his own people, that’s fine. And I also don’t really see why I, as a fan, should have any special attachment to anyone hired by Brendan Shanahan, Kyle Dubas or Brad Treliving.
 
I just like that he cleaned out Brad's trash before working with them at all, both players and staff (other than leach, but they had a draft to run). Just zero trust in them. He gave Kyle's boys a bit more time. But yeah after 10 years, I see the argument that fresh blood could be helpful. Better be good blood though.

Anyway, I'm sure Metcalf won't be out of work for long. He'll be fine.
 
These types of statements are always necessary, I guess, but they're all so patently insincere.

The truth is, you thought they were poor performers, which is why you dumped them. The decisions were easy because you were looking to fire and replace them all, and it is a reflection of how you think they fared.
 
Chaka owned an analytics company. 1) it’s dumb to pretend a guy who started a hockey analytics company doesn’t care about analytics. 2) no 2 analytics models are the same and he probably wants somebody in metcalfs position whose models better align with his own or maybe he Thinks metcalfs models are shit.
 
Metcalf may want an avenue to a GM role, and Chayka wasn't giving him that. That said, I haven't heard that Metcalf was given permission to talk with any one (and Duby never tried to poach him).
 
I have no idea what Jonah Sigel says half the time. One of the worst tweeters, supposed to be a journalist but is somehow worse at English than Presto
