Tue Lions simply Lioned but did it much later in the season.

I have always been a ‘take the points’ kinda guy. I cheer for a team that’s taken the “aggressive” approach the last few years on 4th downs and it makes me nuts.
Someone give these people a fucking calculator and have them add 1 field goal to the score last night.
Campbell is going to say otherwise in front of cameras but not a chance in hell he won’t go to bed each night for the next 6 months and not kick himself for not going for the 3 points.
 
Ordinarily I like when coaches don't pussy out and punt every damn time. Nothing I hate more than seeing some risk-averse coach punt on 4th and under a yard IN A PRE-SEASON GAME, FFS! (and I have seen this) But in a playoff game on the road against a superior opponent? If they give you the field goal take the fucking points unless your kicker just got his leg stuck in a wood chipper.
 
i've really enjoyed watching CMC/San Fran this year because I've had a few of them in fantasy... but I also wanna see some people's brains break so I'm kinda torn here.

In real time, I was calling for them to kick that FG to go up by 3 scores.

But the Lions OC dialed a great play, Goff delivered the throw, but the receiver dropped a routine catch.

Also note, their FG kicker is just a 75% kicker from over 40 yds -- far from a slam dunk option.

yes all good points. But the allure of going up by 3 scores should have outweighed everything else IMO.. 75% is good enough for me to give it a go. The negatives of both situations (kick and miss) and (go for it on 4th an come short) results in the same thing, great field position for 49ers.
You’re playing the jaguars in week 12 and try that, you’re “aggressive” .. go for that in the championship game in that situation and, IMO, you’re irresponsible.

that might explain that call when up 14 but there is no excuse for Ogre not to go for the FG when down 27-24
