The official NFL thread

They had help too. You could sneeze on Tom terrific shoes and get flagged for roughing the passer.

Yeah, I honestly fine the “refs help Mahomes” discourse kinda droll given how much more egregious it was for Tom & the Pats over the years.

When Tom tore his ACL they changed the rules to make sure nothing like that happened again, 😆

(They also neutered CB’s during his era, allowed the Pats to turn DPI into one of the most powerful weapons in football, allowed pick plays to be legal for some reason, “tuck rule”, etc etc etc)

Chiefs have nothing on the Pats dynasty in this regards……but I will say, great QBs also just create their own good fortune, and fans writ large just start viewing anything that goes their way, as refs helping them. (Great teams are also in games everyone is watching & going over with a fine tooth comb every year…..making it seem more egregious than it actually is, imo)

Like yeah, Mahomes has the most INTs turned over by a flag, cause he probably takes the biggest gambles if he sees a flag down, and/or makes passes others couldn’t make in that situation…..and by virtue of his mobility is going to cause defenders to miss time their tackles, etc.

(But yes, he is gaming the rules on the QB late hits….but great QB’s/teams exploiting loopholes is also as old as time.)

I despise the Bills (less than the Pats or Dolphins tho)…..but I do feel for Josh Allen.

Not hard to see the timeline where he’s this era’s Mahomes, if Mahomes didn’t exist…….instead he’s starting to look like this era’s Jim Kelly/Dan Marino.

Forget the qbs. The Chiefs rarely lose a close call. It's a joke. Happened again last night. Even the Ref commentator on the broadcast said the Bills got the first down on that push. Wasn't the first time the Chiefs got that kind of leeway and won't be the last.

eh..

“Wow!” he said. “That’s so close, whatever the call was, I don’t think you can overturn it.”

- Romo.

“I felt like he gained it by about a third of the football,” Steratore said. “That is just my take on the play. Tough, tough play.”

- Steratore.

A close play that went with the original call on the field, as they often do if it’s incredible close to call…Steratore saying “a third of a football” can hardly be called a robbery regardless of which way it goes. imo.

Close play that didn’t fall the Bills way….all it was. No conspiracy, no refs in the Chiefs back pocket…just one of a million close plays in a football season that didn’t go the way the losing team believes it should have.

Happens to every fanbase out there…

The bs non interception was way clearer. Especially on replay.

I only caught the tail end of that replay & discussion around it…..I thought he kinda trapped it against his shoulder?

….but if not, wouldn’t it have been an incomplete on account of hitting the ground, if the ref says he didn’t have control of it yet?

My point is the Chiefs get those close calls Far more than they lose them. Not even close.

Ya I thought it should have been an inc, not an int

anyways rispeck for mahomes. That guy is greatness.

And why would anybody anti root for Philly of all teams? Fuck Philly.

didn't congratulate the Eagles (due to past snubbings)

“Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. “What a GREAT Team, Coach, Quarterback, and virtually everything else, including those fantastic FANS, that voted for me (MAGA!) in record numbers.”

Guess I'm an eagles fan now

3 rings is one thing, 5 Super Bowl appearances as well…..but to go 7 seasons as starter, and 7 seasons making it to the AFC Championship….is f’ing nuts.

We’re talking prime MJ, Bron, Brady, Federer level stuff…except he did it to begin his career. Which leaves on Tiger as a possible comp for this kind of instant sustained greatness?

It’s almost the answer to the question “what would Aaron Rodgers career have looked like if he’d been with Belichick & the Patriots.”
