The Official Post-Bitch 2025-26 Regular Season Thread

Are there betting odds out there if we’ll fire the coach or not? Gut is saying Berube stays. It’s making me sick.
He stay Rogers isnt paying him 2 more years to stroke his chicken at home

Chayka and Mats probably are on the cheap as well and need to pay for coffee in meetings

replacing berube is such an easy, quick win for an incoming management team.

can't really see why the fuck that would happen.

if we hired an obc member, then yeah maybe.

That interview is a nice glimpse into why nerds hated Chayka. He often went against the grain, when the analytics junkies suffered from tremendous groupthink and it was a black or white kind of thing.

Chayka in 2017: “he’s going to be a 20 goal guy”

It’s very funny to me to give Chayka his flowers for, of all things, acquiring 20 goal/40 point Lawson Crouse.

Incredibly run-of-the-mill and mediocre-as-fuck middle-six depth player. But also probably the best trade Chayka ever made as a GM by a fair margin, so if you want to pump his tires, you kinda have no choice but to hype it up.

Again. Nick Schmaltz is his best trade. He is a legit ppg 1C that is getting selke talk from the nerds this year.

But Crouse is a good example of him stealing a good player for literally nothing, that he ended up being right about.

You realize you are just underselling his track record to justify your hot take?

And once again, when discussing this deal, for the sake of making Chayka look better, you leave out what he gave up in this deal—a recent 3rd overall pick by his organization who’s been as good, or at least a comparable-level player to Schmaltz since the deal was made.

Yay for him acquiring an extremely unremarkable depth player in a way that will not be replicable in his new job in Toronto.

And you realize you’re the one doing this on the flip-side, right?

I'm not though. I'm not saying picking Hayton over Quinn Hughes was good or whatever.

But you can't acknowledge that he did anything good there. I mean youre calling Dylan Strome a 1C selke candidate.
