Thats' the problem with the debate. Some people think numbers are BS, others think they're some fancy mathematical secret formula.

It's just info. The good orgs don't make a big deal about it.

Pelley should be able to handle info.

Expecting or even wanting a corporate prez like Pelley to overhaul the hockey ops of a 1st place team based on analytics he has zero familiarity with seems a stretch tbh, and the definition of the bad kind of meddling.

Reality is that Pelley moved very quick - if you remember, after an awful start the leafs were moving steadily back into playoffs position before falling apart around and after the olympics break and that's all it took for pelley to fire the guy who had just finished first the year before.
