Ah. I was thinking any year from the career of a player who played this century but has retired. Not in this century. I’ll take 2006 RBA over any of the 3+ years Francis played from 2000-04

I just figured... considering the issues almost every superstar rental has had adjusting to Canes hockey, Brind'Amour would already be playing his own system, and wouldn't be expected to be the #1 guy like Ron Francis, Eric Staal, Rantanen and most of these fantasy picks were/are expected to be but would still elevate his line above the level of what they're currently producing... or at least get KK to 20 goals for the first time in his career like he did for Bates Battaglia.Ah. I was thinking any year from the career of a player who played this century but has retired.
Don't we need a true 2nd line center? 2006 Rod Brind'Amour, easy peasy.

RBA is the most important person in the history of this franchise. His exploits as Player and coach are unmatched here. But in no universe was he better player than Crosby.
