senschirp, hockeybuzz, hfboards and a link to the NHL site that I am trying to find.

I've read all those sites and there doesn't appear to be anything but pure speculation on the Bobby Ryan thing.

And this is what the Hockeybuzz blogger had to say about Bobby Ryan:

"Senators fans ran wild with stories about Bobby Ryan and Tomas Vokoun heading north of the border, but that's blind optimism at best. Bobby Ryan would be almost impossible to steal."

I mean, I suppose it's possible but Ryan's name coming up seems to have no basis in fact.

Jesus....The Sens don't exactly have a deep group of prospects to give up for those two either.

Neither of those two would come cheap. Chicago tried to get Vokoun at the deadline last year and were shocked at the price Florida was asking.

I wouldn't want to give up Karlsson.

A poster with some real connections and a history of calling moves well ahead of time said:

"there will be something coming up that will blow your minds....i cant talk about it really even though i know most of the details..but this is going to be huge and make us a contender right away....and no im not ****ing around"

Take out Foligno...insert Hot Karlsson, and Anaheim Murray doesn't hang up the phone immediately.

I don't even think that gets it done....but it's at least the start of a conversation.

I wouldn't want to give up Karlsson.

Then you don't get Bobby Ryan.

It's really simple...if...and it's a huge if, Anaheim trades Ryan, it will definitely involved a defender...a very good defender, going the other way.

You don't have any forward prospects Anaheim would consider worth their time and Anaheim would be looking for NHL ready assets. Karlsson makes a lot of sense from Anaheim's standpoint if they've decided to move Ryan.

Ryan has already turned down 4 years, 18.6 million with Anaheim as per the Orange County Register.

Maybe there is nothing to it at all.

The guy that posted it has been right about a lot of things, but he didn't actually name anyone.

Depends.

If I already had a Hot Karl, I'd want a Cowen, though I wouldn't want to give up either of them.

Anyway I did say it was all speculative. If it is a "big move" and a "long time target" that will "instantly make us a contender" it could be a couple of things.

Maybe Savard and Thomas

Maybe Ryan

Maybe Smid, Penner or Cogliano or some combination of, though I wouldn't say that puts Ottawa over the top.

Maybe it will be completely out of left field and they end up signing Kovalchuk.

Or maybe it's all just BS.
