WHAT!? NO GDT? BJ'S @ CANES

From Muller's post game presser, the decision was to have an extra, rested forward available as this was a back to back. No commitment if he'll play tomorrow, but he's available. Pulushaj was a Montreal draft pick and played in Hamilton and in Montreal as well.

Note that both Dwyer and Bowman are playing through physical issues and we need an extra forward in case one of them tweaks something in either practice or a game.

On the game ... agree with the consensus. Carolina looked pretty meh to open up but played their way into the game in the second and put themselves in position to take advantage when somebody finally made a play and got them on the board. Nice finish by E Staal followed by another of the same followed by a really nice read by J Staal and and even better finish ... and wham. You take home points that looked bloody unlikely an hour earlier.

Seriously ... I'm most impressed with this team's continued ability to collect themselves and get back into games. That ain't easy and they just keep doing it.

Now we are seeing Jordan as we expected. That wouldn't likely have happened with him mainly in a shutdown role.

Semin's ADD (if...) was showing up in the first two but he got better as the game went on.

I hate to complain after a HUGE win, but I'd like to see the Canes be able to control the late game a little better, and be able to clear the puck when the other team is pressing hard in the final minutes. I think Khudobin really bailed them out in the last 4 minutes last night. They couldn't clear the zone. This has happened a few times recently...and will need to be fixed for continued success.

Otherwise it was a very sold 35-40 minutes!

Columbus had 6 shots after the go ahead goal, including 4 of them in a 44 second flurry from 17:16 to 18:00. They didn't have any shots after they pulled Bob, though.

Canes were struggling to clear the puck all night, not just the last few minutes. Columbus were somewhat better than the Canes at that all night. So Carolina was a lot more efficient in terms of shots generated per time of possession.

Honestly, I was 100% sure we were going to lose, after they score the second goal.
