In this nasty summer heat of the Triangle, adding a Carrier to the fold simply will cool things off if nothing else!He gets 6 years, $2 million AAV per Seravalli. He only played 39 games last season, 6 goals, 2 assists after a career high of 16 goals the year before.
Yeah ... no idea. But there's not enough cash in it to care that muchWilliam Carrier Hockey Stats and Profile at hockeydb.com

What are we doing giving 6 years for those numbers?
Lowered Expectations...probably the best mindset to have! That much term for that deep depth is low key nuts. Oh well. I didn't expect to be pleased with any news today, so I'm not that disappointed either.
But for 6 years? This is a sneaky good signing.
I like the player. Good piece. But considering what we’ve lost so far . . . .You will like him. Easily buried contract too if he fades. AHL allowance is already $1.15m. It'll be 1.5 at least by then
Can't look at it that way though. The Habs loaded up for the 21 run and fell short. Then lost 9 players. It happens. Plus the prices being paid today are ridiculous.I like the player. Good piece. But considering what we’ve lost so far . . . .
I think the latter in regards to flushing a season...I would not be shocked if they are ok with taking a step back and reloading if possible next summer...maybe squeak in a wildcard spot but this team will regress a ton next year.Canes are going to end up with a lot of cap room to use after today it appears and no good UFAs to use it on.
Trades are going to be the way unless we are going to flush a season here and call it a rebuild/retool.
Have to wonder how bad it really was to lose Waddell at that point.Canes are going to end up with a lot of cap room to use after today it appears and no good UFAs to use it on.

Meh. Who knows. But we haven’t really lost anyone we weren’t expecting to lose. Especially after bowing out early again in the playoffs. You can’t bring everyone back and make significant changes. If they overpay for Guentzel and Skeji and Turbo and Pesce they not only lose cap space but where then can you make significant changes?Have to wonder how bad it really was to lose Waddell at that point.
