OT: American Politics

very, very few people read political websites that don't conform to their ideological beliefs.

Perhaps. I read both sides mainly because of our little site here. I do click on links and read many of the things posted here.

The same argument, however, can be said about Conservative (I shudder at them calling it that) Radio though. Very few people listen to it that do not conform to their ideological beliefs.

heh. blaming the moderator for being informed. about a crucial subject no less.

new lows, folks.

I'm not blaming her for being informed, I am telling you it is abnormal and I will bet my bottom dollar Axelrod and his crew anticipated it and ensured she had it. They came prepared and Romney didn't. Thems the facts.

sure was odd that she had an instant answer, no delay whatsoever. Odder the anticipation and expectation by Obama that Crowley would have it at her fingertips.

Lou, stop it. All I saw was the Obama campaign being better prepared for the one question that could really hurt them. It's politics.

What is odd about the fact that she knew the President said "Act of Terror" in his Benzaghi press conference, when what the president and his cabinet has said about the Benzaghi incident has been a subject of extreme controversy and media attention?

And instantly? Romney awkwardly tried to badger the president on it for a good 20 seconds, and Romney wouldn't leave it alone. After an awkward 20 seconds, Crawley pointed out that romney was making a mistake, and actually tried to direct him to a relevant and accurate criticism of the administration's respone.

As for Obama's expectations, he seemed pleasantly surprised by Crawley's confirmation, definitely not expectant.

Romney hung himself, and now Crawley is being criticized for being a) informed, b) directing Romney to a more effective attack.

new lows.

Before the last debate, some observers had noted that Obama did use the word terror in his Rose Garden address and felt it was an ace in the hole for team Obama to refer to...

I knew he used the word terror in his address....that can't be argued, however the context can be.

Which context would that be?

the one in which during the first press conference on Benzaghi, the morning after, the president condemned Acts of Terror?

asking for the transcript and prodding Romney to continue smells a little like expectation to me.

that's a spin if there ever was one.

romney went after obama. all obama said was 'proceed' and 'check the transcript'.

what should obama have done? acquiesced? lied and said 'i never said what i said'? let romney point his finger at him and call him a liar without responding?

come on. spinning that on to obama is ridiculous. it was romney's screw up. period.

"please proceed"

heh. how is that not a meme yet?

Romney wouldn't leave it alone. I'm not sure what the Prez or the Moderator could have done differently, to be honest. It was Romney's mistake. nobody else's.

zeke he just finished talking about 9-11 right before he brought up the act of terror thing...the context is highly arguable. And earlier in his address talked about denigrating religion. This is what he said earlier:

Since our founding, the United States has been a nation that respects all faiths. We reject all efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. But there is absolutely no justification to this type of senseless violence. None. The world must stand together to unequivocally reject these brutal acts.

why is that there if this is strictly an act of terror that has nothing to do with the video? he covered both bases right from the get go...

What's more confusing is Obama and Co going on about the video for two weeks in the face of calling it an act of terror. That's inescapable.

Romney screwed up for sure....however it doesn't weaken the case that team Obama spent a couple of weeks on the video theory before giving it up.

This was the Benzaghi press conference.

In it, he compared it to 9/11, and condemned any Act of Terror. He didn't just bring up 9/11 and Acts of Terror as some unrelated side note.

It is absolutely hilarious how the right is trying to spin this.
