The Good The Bad & The Ugly - Round 1 Game 1 - Sens vs Habs

From the Sens twitter account:

Injury update: #Sens Mark Stone has suffered a microfracture of his right wrist & his availability for the series is unknown at this time.

What exactly is a microfracture? It sounds like being "almost pregnant"

A small fracture...hence the use of the word micro.

Note this wasn't announced till after the no suspension call, so no gamesmanship to try and get a suspension.

Looks like he wasn't faking after all.

@BWildeCTV = a hairline fracture. fracture in the infrastructure of the bone. Doesn't create a fissure in the bone, therefore MRI picks it

Sounds like they just want to make sure they make a diagnosis sound worse than it is.

which is why they want the term "fracture" included in what they say.

Chances are "microfracture" is pretty much nothing serious at all.

I bet Stone will be playing next game

Patiently waiting for the Habs fans to admit the embellishment/faker talk was pure and adulterated BS and that Stone is a warrior who came back to try to play through the injury.

A sniper with a wicked wrist shot now has a wrist injury. He's a warrior, so he might try and lace them up, but he won't be the same.

I doubt anyone denies he got a bit hurt...but his reaction is what triggered the 5 minute penalty and game miscondudct which was not warranted.

That's the issue most have with Stone.

And even if it was announced after the no suspension verdict don't be naïve to think the Sens don't want to make it sound worse than it is.
At this point they're obviously defensive in how Stone is perceived as an "embellisher"

A warrior doesn't flop around the ice like he did after a hack to the wrist.

Sorry buddy!

Pope Francis will want to hear about him.

My God! Not hard to go out there and skate around and try and shoot a puck with a wrist that's not feeling good.

It's not like he's going out there with a dislocated shoulder or a broken ankle

For all of you complaining about the refs for that game, what's your main complain?

While I didn't like the misconduct on Subban, I understand why the call was made based on what the ref saw. I'm pretty sure he was none too happy to see Stone come back so quickly as well.

The penalty on Eller was justified.

The penalty on DLR is the only one I have an issue with.

The Sens got away with a lot of stuff but we got away with a few as well, including a blatant high stick by Subban.
that was my problem, they got away with murder all night, we didnt have a power play until five to go

I'm biased I wish the Habs had drafted Stone, he's what they need, a pure sniper & R-shot, but that spectacle of rolling around as if u've been shot is not how the "game is played" - it was a disgrace. As someone else mentioned similar to Ribeiro vs Bruins after being clocked.

By the way, how does Stone roll around like a cat on the ice and then run to thr dressing room, only to come back 2 min later ?

When you break your arm/wrist, you don't come back 2 min later, and you pretty much know you broke it on the spot. A "sting" doesn't make you react like that unless you're faking it, which is was

I hope refs understand that Stone made them look like fools....

Oh they'll remember it don't worry. Really dumb thing of Stone to do. No ref wants to look like a fool (I mean, no more so than usual)...

They called one interference/hooking penalty on each side, it was even. :)

Eller and Subban had to be called.

I don't disagree that Eller & Subban were penalties - although Subban was a 2 at most.

It's that they chose to let so much shit go, and some of it was absolutely lunacy, that pisses me off.

We won't get punked around anymore in the playoffs....

I wish we could replace DD with someone like Eller....

It'll cost us lots of points in the regular season (and rankings), but it'll be worth it in playoffs. Eller is nowhere as talented as DD, and he'll never have DD's vision...but what's vision if you can't keep control of the puck.

CBC was shocked at Ellers penalty
