The Good The Bad & The Ugly - Round 1 Game 1 - Sens vs Habs

I don't disagree that Eller & Subban were penalties - although Subban was a 2 at most.

It's that they chose to let so much shit go, and some of it was absolutely lunacy, that pisses me off.
They let a lot of shit go on both sides, it wasn't exactly one sided.

I doubt anyone denies he got a bit hurt...but his reaction is what triggered the 5 minute penalty and game miscondudct which was not warranted.

That's the issue most have with Stone.

And even if it was announced after the no suspension verdict don't be naïve to think the Sens don't want to make it sound worse than it is.
At this point they're obviously defensive in how Stone is perceived as an "embellisher"
I don't get how anyone can say that without knowing the level of pain he was in. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt for that one.

My God! Not hard to go out there and skate around and try and shoot a puck with a wrist that's not feeling good.

It's not like he's going out there with a dislocated shoulder or a broken ankle
I played with both, it was much easier to play with a dislocated shoulder than a wrist injury.

I beg to differ.

Two minors, a full two minute 4 on 3 which later turned into a shorted 5 on 4

versus

One minor.

Sens played 3m09s 5 on 4, 2mins 4 on 3, not to mention having our best skater kicked out of the game for a call that's never made. We played 2 minutes in the third 5 on 4.

That was terribly one-sided.

A noted stickwork man, with help from the coach and crowd, whines his way out a blatant highsticking penalty and you guys still find a way to whine about officiating.

Unreal.

Unreal.

he was thrown off later, quit your whining

Even the guy (Boomer) on NHL Network Radio said all Ottawa ever does is whine.

I still don't know how PK avoided that first high sticking penalty.

I think it was a follow through and if you follow through (in that you touched the puck) the rule says following through on a shot, pass etc is not a high stick

he hit the puck, which made it a high stick, the follow through clubbed their guy therefore no high sticking penalty

What Eller did was worse than what Subban did.

that was a love tap

I loved 93's puppy dog look on the bench as if he had been harpooned

My son took a harder slash in his tournament game and a harder hit into the boards and didn't look like sad and devastated.

both 93 and Eller were going at each other, Eller is just stronger and tougher so his love tap was harder.

both should have gone off, not just Eller

it also wasn't a butt end

Remove the Subban penalty and it's one minor vs 2 minors. Not one sided at all.

But if you chose to blame the refs for Subban's poorly timed reckless stickwork then it's on you. I believe the refs made the right call given the circumstances there.
