Summer 2015 Transfer Thread

A bit of Kun Aguero insurance, I suppose. They sure spend a lot of money on insurance moves at City.

Not sure he could play the front man role, think de Bruyne is more of a replacement for Navaz

Looks like they will play a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Tonight they have Navas, Silva & Sterling behind the main striker (Bony tonight for some reason)

Think De Bruyne would be part of that 3.

I think this is the last big money deal that might get done this window in the EPL.

Well, I think there is still a big money outbound move. After being dropped on Saturday, I can't see any way that DeGea stays. And the Daily Star says that Mourinho is going to make another run at John Stones. That could top £30 million

In a smaller money deal, it looks like Xherdan Shaqiri is headed to Stoke for £12 million.

And Shaqiri could do really well at Stoke. He's never been all that heavily relied upon at club level but has always turned in good work for his country. He's a dangerous attacking player, and God knows Stoke could use the help up front. Apparently that's all but done, because he passed a physical today.

And De Gea's gone in Manchester. It's only a matter of time and the right fee.

Wolfsburg manager Dieter Hecking said that both Barca and Real Madrid are also tracking DeBruyne and Bayern is tracking him too. The article says he'll command a fee of over €40 million which is a bit of a no brainer, since the rumored fee of ₤47 million is over €66 million. After yesterday's match, Pellegrini said that talk of a deal for DeBruyne is "just rumors".

All of which means he's on his way to Manchester for a medical.

We like those kid wingers at the Villa. Unless they think he can play with the senior team right away, this one is a bit curious though. Because they already have Grealish, a still relatively young Sinclair and about 3 or 4 fairly well thought of kids in the development program. Still, speed and skill are always welcome and Barca's kids are generally dripping with both. After a quick research trip, I just found that Barca thought enough of the kid to blood him in with senior appearances in both La Liga and in Champions League play over the last two years while he spent his time playing with Barca B. He's also decided to switch his national team eligibility to Mali (from Spain) so the kid's got some ambition it seems. So ... good?

Find out if Barca put a buy back clause in the contract, that is usually a good sign whether they think he will grow into a player one day or not.

True ... haven't seen anything on that yet, but you're entirely correct. As Arsenal fans will sadly remember. The other positive is that there was apparently a raft of EPL sides chasing Troare's signature. That's not a perfect indicator, but it's usual a good sign.

Dave ... are Everton going to spend on any more veteran players? They have had an awfully quiet summer.

Nope we are rapidly turning into Wigan. Lot of pretty passing midfielders but no defenders and no strikers (well Lukaku but nothing past that).

Well, they're putting the hammer down on Soton, so it couldn't be that bad. I saw the third goal, very nicely taken.

The Toffees are refusing to comment on claims they have received and rejected a third bid, of £30m, from the Premier League champions for the 21-year-old.

Still think this gets done for about £35 mill

West Brom have rejected an offer from Tottenham for England Under-21 striker Saido Berahino.

Spurs desperately need another striker imo

The 22-year-old, who scored 20 goals last season, has started in both of the Baggies' league games this season.

Striker Roberto Soldado has moved from Tottenham to Spanish side Villarreal in a deal worth a reported £7m.

And that's part of the reason why

Real Madrid have signed midfielder Mateo Kovacic from Inter Milan for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old Croatia international has signed a six-year contract at the Bernabeu, where he will be presented to the Real fans on Wednesday.

Keep reading fee was around the £25 mill mark.

Nicolas Otamendi has been dropped by Valencia for Wednesday's Champions League qualifier against Monaco amidst reports he is to join Manchester City.

Spanish newspaper Marca claim a deal has been agreed for the 27-year-old to join City for 45m euros (£32m).
