First game of the pre-season/World Cup I get to watch so I'm excited.

Should get a pretty complete line-up I would think.
 
This game is a good yardstick for where these guys will be at come opening night.

Some interesting decisions coming up. Perhaps the most interesting of all is whether Gauthier has played himself onto the team.

Gauthier was sent to the Marlies, along with some others:

The Toronto Maple Leafs have reduced their training roster 29 with 18 cuts and the release of Ramen Hrabarenka from his professional tryout.
Kasperi Kapanen, Frederik Gauthier, Kerby Rychel and Garrett Sparks were among the 18 players assigned to the Toronto Marlies. Kapanen, Gauthier and Rychel are all former first-round picks, while Sparks played 17 games with the Maple Leafs last season.
Antoine Bibeau, Nikolas Brouillard, Rich Clune, Travis Dermott, Justin Holl, Andreas Johnsson, Brendan Leipsic, Tobias Lindberg, Viktor Loov, Trevor Moore, Andrew Nielsen, Colin Smith, Dmytro Timashov, and Rinat Valiev were all assigned to the Marlies as well.

I'll definitely be relieved when Prust is officially released from his PTO. Ending up with him and Martin both on the opening-day roster would be pretty irritating.

Didn't they already send Kaskisuo down? I thought I read he had a shutout last night. Sosh is already slated to start with the Marlies as well.

Also, Froese is still on the roster. Ugh.
 
Nylander should be on a line with Matthews with Bozak playing. Not liking Martin on a scoring line with Matthews.
 
I think that's correct zeke, except that Kaskisuo was already sent to the Marlies camp some time before Sparks & Bibeau got demoted.
 
My Opening Night Line-Up would be:

JVR-Bozak-Marner
Leo-Kadri-Leivo
Nylander-Matthews-Michalek
Martin-Laich/Holland-Hyman
Ex: Brown, Greening

Marincin-Rielly
Gardiner-Zaitsev
Hunwick-Carrick

Ex: Corrado, Polak

Yeah probably. It'll come down to Froese or Greening(i think he likes Froese and i thought he looked good last night). Sosh was going to be with the Marlies to start.
 
My lines would be(without thinking what is 1st, 2nd etc).

KOMAROV.....KADRI.....HOLLAND

MICHALEK....BOZAK......MARNER

JVR.....MATTHEWS....NYLANDER

LAICH......FROESE.....HYMAN

EXTRAS: SOSHNIKOV, LEIVO

No idea who to pair on defense as those guys will need to find who has better chemistry with whom(plus we don't know how good Zaitsev is).

I like balanced lines with 2 cycle capable players with 1 who is more about speed and skill so i always go with that. I think that up there is pretty solid. Not sure i like seeing JVR play with Marner as both play very similarly and JVR really should be a beast on the wall but he isnt(Nylander beats him in that area too).
