The 2019-2020 MotherFucking Season Thread

As long as petan isnt recalled.
What happened to soup was horrible, but he is an ufa this off season (I think), and this injury should allow the leafs to get a favourable contract with him this off season, unless he just packs it up and heads back to russia.

Stuff like this goes a long way with the players when it comes to signing here

@kristen_shilton

Sheldon Keefe said trainer Jon Geller and Kyle Dubas stayed back with Mikheyev in New Jersey, and the winger's doing well: "I think his spirit was boosted a little bit by Team Russia's performance [in a 6-0 win over Canada] today, I know he was watching the game in his room"

Mikhayev and Muzzin are two very big losses in my books. Our second best dman and our fifth best forward. Not good at all.

And a broken foot, week to week, come on, the foot is the most important area for a hockey player in terms of his ability to move.

If it's one of his toes, it may be less of a recovery than the typical 6 weeks you need for a broken bone. Especially if it's not the big toe.

Have you seen Muzzin move though?

Still hasn't solved his consistency issue.

And, no, it's not because he faces an inordinately high amount of tough shots.
(Rank from easiest - 1000+ mins)

xGA/60: 2.46 (15th)
HDCA/60: 7.76 (13th)
Avg. shot distance: 36.89 (12th)

The Leafs need an insurance policy on this guy.

So let’s name three goalies who are better and more consistent. And let’s even push it to five and ask if any of those goalies would be available in trade.

I feel like just about every team has the exact same issue with its starter.

By the way, he was garbage last night but so was Matthews the night before. No player is going to be great every game. It’s like every time he isn’t great, he suddenly sucks, and the media is blowing him, and the fans are dumb, and so on.

If we are talking about this year, there are a lot of candidates. I ran through the list and the only goalies who have had average to above average years and who have been just as inconsistent as Anderson are Tukka, Hellebuyck, and Binnington. The rest of the save percentage leaders have been much more consistent and just flat out better for the majority of the year than Anderson.
