OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

We can’t handle that volume yet. Kits are the primary issue while volume is secondary.

My coworker is an essential worker with no symptoms and her kids all have symptoms and were being cared for by someone who travelled from Florida but none of them can get a test.

Thinking it'll be all over my work soon enough. Not sure who's going to answer the phones.

Stupid question but can you work remotely? Can they set you guys up with forwarded phones and network access remotely?

Taking 911 calls maybe but dispatching with our radio network and the amount of cooperation between dispatchers in divisions seems like it'd be next to impossible.

All of us right now

Not seeing many people with masks on in Stouffville. Just the odd Asian, tbh.

Both my parents are close to 70, a little worried about them.

“I have patients in their early 40s and, yeah, I was kind of shocked. I’m seeing people who look relatively healthy with a minimal health history, and they are completely wiped out, like they’ve been hit by a truck. This is knocking out what should be perfectly fit, healthy people. Patients will be on minimal support, on a little bit of oxygen, and then all of a sudden, they go into complete respiratory arrest, shut down and can’t breathe at all.”

Had to run to the store to get some necessary items... why in the actual fuck are 6 members of the same family all going to the grocery store right now?

On the menu tonight: homemade sausages, roasted potatoes and rice from my zojirushi rice cooker (game changing device) with mixed veggies.

We need to be treated like children and be forced to make correct decisions. Not that I fully trust Japan's numbers, but this is why the outbreak wasn't as bad there... It's a culture that follows instructions respectfully and religiously. Same as Taiwan and South Korea to some extent. We're useless over here.
