Playoffs GDT #6 MAY 29 7:30 - Stop Playing With Your Food

Every deadline move was really, really bad and we gave up almost a whole draft’s worth of picks. Ugly.

The fact that we didn’t do the Riley Nash experiment in the regular season and didn’t get Hyman up to speed before the playoffs so that we could play fucking Fred in one meaningless game has also come back to bite us.

Absolute stupidity.

i think that got overblown.

campbell made a few decent stops and one ten-beller (the stack pad)

price outplayed him by a large margin.
Well Price has been the better goalie for sure in the series but that’s not where our advantage was supposed to come from. Campbell I think has been more than we could have hoped for to this point.

i think this is all on AM and MM, but he's... not good.

Agreed, we would crucify Freddy for that so he does deserve blame there. In this particular case though we only had a chance in this game because of him.

You know...kinda sorta. We looked bad for long ass stretches of this game but ended up out chancing Montreal 36-31 and out high danger chancing them 17-11.

Jack absolutely kept this from getting out of hand in the first 10 minutes, but Price was just better than him tonight. Faced more and better shots overall. 2 of the goals Jack allowed just shouldn't go in and how many times do we need to see that goaltending at the other end in the playoffs before we accept that it's fucking normal. It's not superhuman, it's just good goaltending. Sometimes you just need your guy to make one more stop than the other guy and we have consistently not gotten that for years now. Our only problem? Nah. JT getting launched into orbit, Muzzin hurt for the 2nd playoffs in a row, Auston and Marner simply not making an impact...not playing poorly...just not making the impact in line with their paycheque. 99 problems, but getting out goaltended is absolutely one.

I disagree, it's not unlike Brodie's goal, even if deflected shots are coming too fast to make an adjustment once committed. But i agree it looked bad in real time.

Price was probably a bit deep in his net on the Brodie goal. Also stoppable.

The gift that keeps on giving, that we obviously should have punted on last summer when it was fucking obvious

The rich boys on the team have been a no show, thats plain for everyone to see. But WTF is Derrmot doing? Talk about about a bonehead play from a guy who should know better. He looked worse then Jake Gardiner out there.

Keefe admits his conviction wasn’t particularly high on the challenge. So not a great call IMO but probably harmless without Marner’s brain fart

also, it was a clapper that price had to move side to side on, which opens holes.

this was just a straight 35 wrister that grazed bogosian and beat an unsquared jack.

and, again, he saw it -- he turned his head quickly enough to watch the puck sale past him. but his body just didn't react.
