Just reflecting on how successful Vegas has been four years in. I'm sure no other expansion sports franchise has come close to that sort of success in that length of time. And it was totally from scratch.

Now let's end that nonsense and humiliate them.

Habsy calling hotels reminds me of a class trip to Montreal when I was 16 in 1973. Meeker was living in NL too then and had mentioned on his sports show he was going to Montreal to do the game on Saturday night. I called around and located him at the Sheraton. I told him to mention us on TV, as we would be at the game. He said he would....he didn't I was told by those watching back home. Can't trust a former Leaf.

To end the story, I then looked up all the Habs players in the phone book and found one....Rejean Houle. I guess he really was the down to earth guy he always appeared to be. He answered the phone, and spoke patiently to me, the kid, for 10 minutes.

The Blues went to the finals in each of their first 3 seasons.

That said, Vegas is definitely better than the Blues were.

Not surprising he sucked at baseball, you can’t trap in that sport. He had a great clapper for his era.

There’s plenty left in the tank. The Canadiens should be well rested, they barely built up a sweat against Winnipeg, and they are the 7th biggest team in the NHL. The only question is are they good enough to to bear Vegas 4 times in 7 games. I think we’ll have a decent enough idea by about midnight tomorrow.

The 4 D really needed that pause, it’s they who risk running out of gas. Forwards should be fine, but they need to come back down low to provide support.

That wasn't because they were any good, that was because the 6 expansion teams all played in the same division so for those 3 years an expansion team was guaranteed a spot in the finals (kinda like the North Division this season) The Blues, by the way, went 0-12 in those 3 finals.

As soon as they comingled the expansion teams with the established teams the Blues never saw the finals again until 2019.
