Easy to forget that Kruger was ever a Hurricane. Pretty sure he doesn't remember it either, for all the "effort" he put inFormer Canes Lucas Wallmark, Joakim Nordstrom and Marcus Kruger were named to Sweden‘s Olympic team. Wallmark and Nordstrom are playing for CSKA Moscow, Kruger is playing for Zurich in the Swiss League.
Wasn’t Svrluga brought in for the NASCAR beat after the incumbent passed away?Sure, but do you miss Barry Svrluga? Seriously, if you do he's writing for the Washington Post.
Pretty sure Svrluga took over the NASCAR beat after he crapped out on hockey after one season ... although he may have been trying to cover both. He clearly hated every second of his work covering the Canes beat. IIRC, Cecil followed him on the Canes beat, and then they found DeCock. Either way, he left the market after only a couple of years. I've always been surprised that he's done so well at the Post, because he was petulant and terrible here. Steve Elling is another one who was just awful in this market who went on to a long, fairly distinguished career elsewhere.Wasn’t Svrluga brought in for the NASCAR beat after the incumbent passed away?
I have an online subscription to the Post and read him occasionally.
Did you mean “Why are you so pissy, Cmon?”"Why are you so pissy, Leon?"
Oh ... you missed that exchange between Leon Draisaitl and one of the Edmonton media minions? You should find that ... it's both sad and hilariousDid you mean “Why are you so pissy, Cmon?”
I don’t know. But I recognize that I am.
You must hang out mostly with others who are not from here.Been here over 50 years and only met 2 guys who are NASCAR fans. And one is from Chicago I guess their fan base is more blue collar.
Ok. If it was aimed at me it was also spot on yesterday.Oh ... you missed that exchange between Leon Draisaitl and one of the Edmonton media minions? You should find that ... it's both sad and hilarious
Oh ... while auto racing of any kind has never been my thing, I can tell you for certain that there are plenty of NASCAR fans around these parts. Less than there used to be maybe, or at least more casual fans and less diehards who go to races. You must hang out mostly with others who are not from here.
There used to be a lot back before they decided to chase big bucks moving races from the Carolinas to Chicago and California and Texas and wherever. And before they basically gave everyone the same car to drive. I knew a lot and was a fan myself but none of the guys I knew that used to be fans care much about it anymore and haven’t since shortly after we lost Dale.
Steve Politi was the first.... do not miss that guy, although I slightly did during the Cecil Harris era.Pretty sure Svrluga took over the NASCAR beat after he crapped out on hockey after one season ... although he may have been trying to cover both. I used to be a fan until the Rockingham dates were taken. F em now. Plus no real personalities any more.Oh ... while auto racing of any kind has never been my thing, I can tell you for certain that there are plenty of NASCAR fans around these parts.
