Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

Nah more important to have them $2-3m cheaper the next 3yrs than the following 3yrs imo.
When those 3 years are up, we're going to be giving Tavares' $11M to McDavid. Or someone else.

The cheaper we get these guys now, the more likely we can keep them, and if not, have great players under great contracts to trade.

He’s just not important enough to take away money from key players IMO. mikky is replaceacable.

they have to move Mrazek and his and Jacks $5.4 mill to fix the goaltending, which may cost more.

they have to keep/replace Engvall, Mikheyev and Kase for about what they make now. Thats where Robertson comes in.

then you move Kerfoot to sign Sandin and Lilly.

Rielly already took the cap raise and Kessel money.

moving Muzzin would give you flexibility to upgrade.
Trade Kerf and give Mikky his money. Then give Mikky's money plus $500k to Engvall. It's basically a wash and you keep two key players long term.

And then we let Bunting walk because we wasted all our money on the third line.

Bunting-Matthews-Marner
Robertson-Tavares-Nylander
Knies-Kampf-Engvall
Kase-Abruzzesse-Spezza

I just don't see the need.

If you can actually sign him for kerfoot money and don't give any NMC or NTC (or at least modified) you're not really locked in and that's a movable contract if you need the money.

When that fourth line is 2/3 injured or dead and 1/3 on the Marlies, you might.

Penciling in Knies and Robertson is nice, but also more than a bit premature.

We need Mikky in there.

I have an easy time paying Mik 3.5m I think. If that's really the top bid in the league I think you have to do it. I'm doubtful but he's a way better use of that money than Kerf especially on this roster.

You don't even let him see what the top bid in the league is. You try to lock him in between $3M to $3.5M between now and then.

Why is it only other teams that get their players to resign on cheaper/more fair deals? We have to start getting some of these guys to stay put for fair dollars and keep the band together. They're building something here.

Playing around on capfriendly.com and we have wiggle room.

Obviously Mraz has to go but once you do that you can pretty much bring the roster back with maybe one notable loss somewhere.
