yeah that's the type of thing I could see happening. Dubas' #1 target was Lindholm who went to Boston instead. I think he'd still be interested in a move like that.

Full NTC so he has to be willing and the options may be limited, but I think it has to be the move.

My man, Muzzin was horrific all season long, or injured.

Gio in his short time here was fantastic.

of course not but I don't think that's what Dubas was aiming for. we're not getting a #1 defenceman anywhere but the draft but that is a whole other topic.

the foundation of the defence from a defending standpoint are 2 players who are still good but are leaving their prime and likely to decline. Dubas has to be looking at adding a long term option in the top 4 to help absorb those minutes. It looks like Lilly and Sandin may never be those players.

I know you aren't a Lindholm guy and never have been, but it's more the type of player...under 30 and can be more of a mid to long term piece.

I don't love the d but you have to throw Sandin and Timmy into the fire I think. Give them the toughs too. Hopefully by the deadline you can scoop someone up to create a shutdown pair with Brodie for the playoffs if this fails.

The beauty of it is we already know Lilly is ready, and if Sandin takes a bit longer, he can switch with Gio here and there. But I don’t think Sandin is as unready as the rest of you so I have zero concerns.

It could be, but it could also be a massive mistake to keep him. It was 7 games. I’m not betting on Muzz at his age and with his health track record to do that over another 82 plus playoffs. We are overstocked on good LDs. He’s the one to go.
 
All this talk of Rielly is even more pointless than the talk of Tavares. We just extended him for a gazillion years. He’s an awesome player and he’s not going anywhere. Even with Jack’s .897 and playing Babushkie, we outscored TB overall in the series. What D problem? I don’t see it.

I'm not sure any of them have to go tbh.

We need 7 dmen minimum in a season, especially when one is 39.

So ridiculous. I've driven nice vehicles for 30 years. Never even been close to a car jacking. This is like blaming a girl for getting assaulted because of what she was wearing.
