Leafs' Prospect/Marlies Discussion Thread!

Kind of crazy that it's been four years now since a Leaf draft pick stepped into the NHL lineup as a rookie forward and made any kind of appreciable offensive impact.

Would be quite something if we break that streak with a Robertson breakout and still have the possibility of adding Knies essentially as a trade-deadline addition for free (assuming he has a good year and is willing to sign an ELC).

Entirely your fault if you're shocked after I told you to not be shocked.

Engvall is fine, but I'm not sure that he's particularly good. The whole 0 goals in 17 playoff games bit is bugging me too. Dude does almost all of his work along the perimeter.

The more I like Steeves, the more I like him. I could definitely see him pushing Engvall down to the 4th line if he's given some burn with the big club.
 
He's one of those players who's like the glue on a line, helping it stick together and work.

He has everything we could want from a bottom six player.

This is turning back into the Malgin for Robertson thing. You want Malgin, fine, but not at the expense of a better player while leaving worse players on the roster. You want Steeves, bring him in, but drop ZAR or NAK, not Engvall.
 
I will say in defence of playoff Pierre he was a 4th line guy playing 4th line minutes till this past round where he got 3 pts in 7. Not gonna get my cock hard but not horrible either.

I'm not suggesting that Engvall will get pushed out of the lineup for Steeves. But that he could lose his spot on the 3rd line to steeves. He would then push one of the craptacular 4th line wingers we have out of the lineup.
