Everything Carey Price

Not a stocked goalie year. There's a couple of guys, Hrabal and Bjarnason that look good but nothing that I would spend a first on, unless it's a very late first.

Price is a first ballot Hall of Famer under any circumstances but especially under the current circumstances in which a guy like Roberto Luongo, a goalie who never met a big game he couldn't find a way to choke in, has already been inducted.

The only debate to be had, and it shouldn't even be a debate simply because there is an established criteria that has not been met and is therefore a moot point, is the jersey retirement.

In this case, Price did not meet the standard of playing on at least one Cup championship team. Not his fault, but rules are rules and standards must be maintained. You can't have the numbers of a dozen or more players who all won Cups and then put up one next to them that doesn't have one. That's a slippery slope, the thin edge of the wedge, like putting DH's who never wore a baseball mitt into Cooperstown. I'll gladly fight and die on that hill. But the HHOF? The place that enshrined mediocrities like Bernie Federko and Luongo? There's no way you can keep Price out.
 
Samuel Montembeault is 26 and entering his prime years, so what’s the rush?
 
Why is the HHOF even a discussion? For the better part of a decade Price was the best goalie on Earth.
That alone clinches the argument.

First ballot, automatic in.

As for retiring his jersey? Why not?
He backstopped them to a final appearance.

Price was great. Period.

None whatsoever.

The gun debate always has been, and always will be, directed by dishonest people on both sides of the political spectrum.

There shouldn't be a universal ban on guns like what the Liberals want and there shouldn't be a free-for-all market like what Conservatives wants.

My belief: The consequences of owning a gun illegally or the importation of firearms illegally should be MUCH more severe than it is now. I also believe most semi-automatics should be banned and that getting a gun should be like getting a driver's permit. If someone wants to hunt, they need to go through gun training before being allowed to hunt.

I don't think these are outrageous demands, but I also know that neither side is willing to water down their expectations even a little bit to make a feasible possibility.
