OT: Movies/TV Shows

I'm assuming it's based on the Flashpoint storyline
In the comics, Flash runs his way into another dimension where Bruce died as a kid and his dad became a murderous version of the Batman we know in avenging his son, instead of vice versa. So “our” Batman (Bruce) never shows up there, but the Keaton Bruce obviously shows up here.

Edit. I just remembered, Flash didn’t go to another dimension. He ran back into the past and changed something in his personal life, and that change had a ripple effect and resulted in Bruce dying as a kid and Thomas becoming Batman.

But yeah, it looks to be based on that story, but they’re obviously changing stuff like Bruce not dying.

By the way, one of my favorite comic stories ever. And they made an animated film on it, which was their best one, imo. Highly, highly recommended if you like baby cartoon shit.

I’ve never ever liked Keaton as Batman, not even as a kid obsessed with Batman. I still don’t like him as Bruce now. But the movie has the potential to be stellar if they didn’t stray too far from the material (though it’s clear that instead of going back in time, they have Flash going to a parallel earth, so it’ll be different, but different good…?).

There's a really old Batman story (40+ years ago) from Detective Comics #500 (volume 1):

Did I catch nolan's bat cycle in one of those clips?

It seems flash goes back in time to save his mom and then all this happens. But it definitely has multiple batman's as Affleck is there too.

I don't really follow them anyway. Someone says "this is decent" and I give it a try. All this mind fuck multiverse shit I don't care to follow. I'll watch for the big booms. Hopefully there's a mix of good acting and script in there.

Comic book movies are generally like NHL expansion. Not enough great shit, but we’ll spread it out as far as it can go anyway.

They've just replaced all the shitty 80s action movies and the bad early versions of themselves. I would much rather the MCU than the revolving Segal-Stallone-Arnold-VanDamme shit fest. Ever tried rewatch any of those? Jesus

I wasn't as big a fan of the first one as everyone else (cuz racist), but holy shit is Black Panther 2 a steaming pile.

Phase 4 just an utter disaster for Marvel.

Spider Man 3, Wandavision, Loki the only ones that are "good".

The rest range from somewhat passable to horrendous. And what's worse is that phase 4 has by far the most. 7 movies and like 11 shows all crammed into less than 2 years. way to kill the brand.

Phase 3 -pretty much all 11 flicks are "good". Phase 3 is peak marvel.
Phase 2 - 6 movies - 1 great, 2-3 good, 2-3 bad, 2 shitty shows
Phase 1 - 6 movies - 2 great, 2 decent, 2 awful

Black Panther 1 was poopish too.

We're one Peter Porker, Spider-Ham movie away from giving every last Marvel character their moment on screen.

By the way, I bet James Gunn's new DC universe is going to be complete shit.

Also, Pattinson's Batman movie is nearly unwatchable the second time through. So fucking bad.

I will say, Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow are the coolest G.I. Joe characters and single handedly lift that IP into another tier.
