I think Dubas is adjusting for a flat cap world continuing. We still haven't see the fall out of Bally's fully explained and now there's another regional sports broadcaster closing up shop as well apparently that has contracts with 3 American teams.

The tough part in assessing Sandin is that he generally gets butter soft comp. He whomps butter soft competition though. Holl plays heavies and after sucking dick for a bit early in the season has been steady in heavy usage.

I think I wanna see how McCabe-Brodie looks. I know Keefe and Dubas were horny about Muzzin-Brodie for many years and actually did it during last years playoffs. You could hear Keefe finishing in his pants when he was discussing it. McCabe has survived the toughs in Chicago this year.. I think he can be a nice partner for Brodie to play the toughs against some very fucking good National Hockey League teams in the playoffs. Or at least, it's worth trying. Far more important to have that go-to pair established in the playoffs vs regular season.

Rielly-Lilly getting the offensive zone starts and Matthews shifts on the fly
McCabe-Brodie getting the heavy lifting with JT-ROR-Willy
Gio-Holl getting the swiss army knife usage and probably shit thumping it.

it makes sense for those sports because draft picks quickly lose value after the top 5-10 slots

in football, even a late first rounder is usually a plug and play starter that is relatively cheap for the next 5 years
 
Lafferty has like 22 points this year or whatever 10 goals.... which will be a perfect replacement for the invisible ZAR.
 
In thinking about this more, this feels pretty cheap for a top 4 d with a 2m AAV for the next 2 years (and more importantly 3(!!!!) playoff runs). Essentially a 1st and a 2nd. It's a very tidy and sneaky move by Kyle here. Brodie's got 2 more playoff runs left before his contract is up so they needed to start finding quasi replacements in the meantime. And for the next 2 playoffs they have both.
