Yeah, that is what I thought. I think the hope was for a top 4 pick this year and even then these players seemed expensive.

I defended the move. But I'd like the record to state that well before the Poeltl move I wanted Hartenstein in free agency, Kristaps back when people were giving him away for free, Jarrett Allen in free agency, etc.

Without more injuries I think they'll struggle to be trash enough this year to actually tank. Any sort of move forward from the BBQ-Dick core and we're a 30-35 win team even with ugly around them.
Tanking is an all hands on deck organizational effort now and as we saw today, the shit doesn't even give great odds to pay off. 2 of the top 4 picks went to teams that were trying to be good-ish. Portland was fucking terrible and picks 7th? lol
