GDT | Game 62 | at Edmonton | Thursday, March 6th | 9:00 PM EST

As our main fan in Alberta believes in self-flagellation, if we have to lose one out west, Thursdays is the best one to lose

Count wouldn't give you his credit card eh?
I don't overspend on tickets. The Oilers jack up the prices for games against the Habs, Leafs, and Flames and I can see Newhook miss and open net by 5 feet just as easily from the upper deck as from the lower.

I'm frugal. I could spend more, but I don't need to. I derive my sense of self esteem through things other than how much money I spend on hockey tickets, cars, or other material goods.

I also have a spouse to whom I answer. In 2 weeks I'll be gone to Montreal for a hockey weekend. I went to Montreal over xmas and went to a game then. In November I went to Vancouver for Grey Cup. I have season tickets to the Elks. I spend plenty on attending sporting events in which my wife has no interest and she doesn't get on my case about it.

I am not deprived. But at the same time I don't need to sit in the club seats for all these events. I'm happy just being in the building. And when I'm at a game, I try not to spend on concessions if possible because the team already has enough of my money. Im not spending $15 for a pint of Molson. And every dollar I don't spend on a more expensive ticket helps pay for a ticket to another game.

I'd rather spend $300 to go to 3 games at $100 each than spend $300 to sit in the front row at one game.
