It mostly is, in terms of the draft at least.I thought the rebuild was over
The dynamic duo (WeHave and Geeman) won't agree. The rebuild is over. All trades are now hockey trades, no more liquidating assets or weaponising cap space for the best futures package
They do have structure, they are just over thinking on the ice right now.. we are still in the fight, part of me wants them to miss by 1 point so they understand why all games are important, it will be a hungry summer for them . Part of me wants them to get it in so they can experience the Bell Centre during the playoffs.. either way, Go Habs GoYeah we'll see. There's no structure to the team play.
I completely agree. I can see some less "hunger" at the start of next season if they get in this year. They do have structure, they are just over thinking on the ice right now.. we are still in the fight, part of me wants them to miss by 1 point so they understand why all games are important, it will be a hungry summer for them . 100%. We are in phase 2. "All in," if we get to that phase (not guaranteed), is probably 2-3 years away (Fowler will have to the starter for that phase to have a chance to succeed). They’re not paying attention or don’t understand there are three modes
Rebuilding (getting futures, not worried about competing)
Building (competing)
All In (selling futures to win it all now)
It’ll be Zegras - MSL & Hughes have both coached the player and “know” the person, and Gorton will have all the “dirt”We've been trying to find 1-2C for close to 3 decades now.....
I'm not too confident about our chances to all of a sudden find one this summer.
It's gonna be a reclamation project like Dach, or a passed his prime player like Duchene.
Unfortunately, we still need to draft that center, unless management is ready to trade guys like Guhle, Reinbacher, Caufield to get that 2C.
You and I know better. If the rebuild is over we're fucked. Still a long way to go.I thought the rebuild was over
The teams collectively hit a wall / emotionally drained…They do have structure, they are just over thinking on the ice right now.. we are still in the fight, part of me wants them to miss by 1 point so they understand why all games are important, it will be a hungry summer for them . We still have deadwood to ship out.The rebuild is over. All trades are now hockey trades, no more liquidating assets or weaponising cap space for the best futures package
No one is getting shipped out - UFAs will organically leave over next couple of seasons as contracts expireWe still have deadwood to ship out.
Guhle returned last night. The teams collectively hit a wall / emotionally drained…
There’s always been an “fresh injection” prior to team going on a win streak:
- Laine cleared to play + Dobes stealing a couple of games in Dec
- Heineken cleared to play + 4 Nations break
Fowler signing ELC, and stealing a game or two is really all there is from a fresh catalyst perspective
We still have deadwood to ship out.
Many talking heads and even his own coach at Michigan are not 100% sold on his NHL future at CWe did, last year. But he's not ready for the NHL yet.
I’m not ready to write a eulogy on this season yet.. CBJ is the only team that has concerned me, if Sens win tonight in regulation…Habs will be in good position over last 10GPGuhle returned last night.
They've hit the wall for sure. This is the limit of their abilities right now. It's better than it was a year or two ago, but it still isn't good enough. They're out of gas and their card has been declined. They wanted to be in da mix for a playoff spot and they are. They will die within sight of it. Still and all, the season was successful in that management's goals were achieved.
