GDT | Game 72 | at Carolina | Friday, March 28th | 7:00 PM EDT

Yeah we'll see. There's no structure to the team play.
They do have structure, they are just over thinking on the ice right now.. we are still in the fight, part of me wants them to miss by 1 point so they understand why all games are important, it will be a hungry summer for them . Part of me wants them to get it in so they can experience the Bell Centre during the playoffs.. either way, Go Habs Go

I completely agree. I can see some less "hunger" at the start of next season if they get in this year.

The dynamic dunces duo (WeHave and Geeman) won't agree.

They’re not paying attention or don’t understand there are three modes

Rebuilding (getting futures, not worried about competing)
Building (competing)
All In (selling futures to win it all now)

100%. We are in phase 2. "All in," if we get to that phase (not guaranteed), is probably 2-3 years away (Fowler will have to the starter for that phase to have a chance to succeed).

We've been trying to find 1-2C for close to 3 decades now.....

I'm not too confident about our chances to all of a sudden find one this summer.

It's gonna be a reclamation project like Dach, or a passed his prime player like Duchene.

Unfortunately, we still need to draft that center, unless management is ready to trade guys like Guhle, Reinbacher, Caufield to get that 2C.
It’ll be Zegras - MSL & Hughes have both coached the player and “know” the person, and Gorton will have all the “dirt”

The teams collectively hit a wall / emotionally drained…

There’s always been an “fresh injection” prior to team going on a win streak:
- Laine cleared to play + Dobes stealing a couple of games in Dec
- Heineken cleared to play + 4 Nations break

Fowler signing ELC, and stealing a game or two is really all there is from a fresh catalyst perspective, and small chance of Redenbacher being called up..

Guhle returned last night.

They've hit the wall for sure. This is the limit of their abilities right now. It's better than it was a year or two ago, but it still isn't good enough. They're out of gas and their card has been declined. They wanted to be in da mix for a playoff spot and they are. They will die within sight of it. Still and all, the season was successful in that management's goals were achieved.

Next season, merely being in da mix won't cut it. Next year they need to be a playoff team. Anything less than that will be a pathetic failure requiring significant changes on the bench and perhaps even behind it.

I’m not ready to write a eulogy on this season yet.. CBJ is the only team that has concerned me, if Sens win tonight in regulation…Habs will be in good position over last 10GP

There is a structure but the guys went away from it (poor puck management, poor risk recognition, etc.) and seem to be wilting under the heaviness of the situation.

Need to go lunch bucket and get greasy. Less artsy, more fartsy.
