In my mind that’s not a bad thing, 4 years left at 5.5 isn’t bad. Wish he was a year or 2 younger but he’s a guy that makes others look better.

Me neither. Point is Trocheck can score 65 points easily with Demidov and Laine and take over the important faceoffs. No need to find a specialist.

Plus he can play PP, PK, every situations. You never have to worry about him being there just for the faceoff.

Problem is that I'm not sure what NYR would be looking for. Some cap relief with picks and prospects or some immediate help?

They're pretty tight against the cap and need to resign Miller and fill up their forwards. Not enough cap to go UFA shopping, which they love to do. And they don't have a first round pick. They also need help on defense. If they want to go for clearing up some cap space, a deal based on a 1st + either Struble or Xhekaj (which they might want given their love for Rempe), could be enticing.

Their prospects especially on D simply have stalled in their development …

Gorton & Bobrov know them well, there might be some undervalued assets who simply need a new environment & team culture before they takeoff..

I doubt it either, they'll sacrifice Kreider first, but with Mika and JT, Trochek is now a pretty luxurious 3rd line center.
