OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

I saw an interview with Garrett Temple recently. As long as this dude wants the job i would keep bringing him back as the 15th man until we actually needed the roster spot for someone. The guy is great for the youth we have

Good vet, smart dude. Basically what we wanted Thad to be and wasn't.

CMB into the top 5 is aggressive as fuck. He's kind of OG'ish if OG was more of a 4 and less of a 3, but also couldn't shot. Dude will probably defend 1 through 5 in the NBA. Offensively, he's kind of similar to Julius Randle, again if Randle couldn't shoot from 15 ft out. Decent handles, good at finishing around the rim. There's a bag of guys who I rate fairly similarly. Queen, Richardson, CMB, Maluach, & Newell, that I'm waiting for the combines before I rank. Wingspan and lane agility is going to matter a lot for some of the roles these guys are going to play in the NBA.

Fwiw, my rando high upside swing right now at the 7 (assuming no surprised in my previous top 6) is Asa Newell.

Do you think we are too late for Tre?

Yeah, and he's been serviceable. Deep bench serviceable. But you could definitely have worse guys at practice pushing your starters. Doesn't hurt that he's a local kid as well and still only 24 so maybe even a bit of development left in him.

Suns owner needs to GTFO , team is a fucken disaster

This is New Orleans...

Green might want to leave New Orleans to take the Phoenix job. They just fired Bud.

But yeah, Phoenix is a mess too. A Durant trade is probably going to happen. If I had to bet on that I'd say Durant for Julius Randle S&T, MPJ , FVV and a bunch of stuff, or Myles Turner S&T + stuff

I imagine we see some form of Zion, Durant, and Embiid moved this offseason

This summer is going to be nuts. There's a lot of teams who need or want to do something big/drastic.

- Denver needs a hard reshuffle and everyone not named Jokic is available. MPJ is the most likely to go and it's a bad contract.
- Wolves either need to re sign Randle, which is a pretty obvious mistake contract waiting to happen or S&T him.
- Clippers have moveable salary and a need for more talent if they're going to win with this group. I think they realize that they're not going to get more from this group than they're currently getting
- I seriously wouldn't be surprised if Memphis traded Ja Morant. The off court antics and the injuries were one thing entirely when he was playing like an All NBA guard. Maybe you give it one more year to see if he returns to that form, but if a good offer comes across this summer you have to consider moving on.
- Trae....when does he ask out? Finishing .500 or worse every year and no or short playoff runs isn't going to be enough. I can see the argument for him giving them another year. Atlanta looked pretty good before Jalen Johnson got hurt, and Risacher has shown flashes of being for real.
- Dallas is going to do something dumb. Their window to compete is now. I wouldn't be surprised if they win the Durant sweepstakes fwiw.
- Yeah, Zion is probably getting traded
- I see the argument for Philly "running it back" because it was a disaster season and they're kind of pot committed. They're actually not that far away from being pretty good. A top pick, Grimes, and McCain give them an interesting as fuck looking bench next year too. But yeah, I'm sure they'll try to move Paul George, so throw his name on the pile of huge salaries available in trade that would surprise no one if they moved.
- Wouldn't be surprised to see a Lonzo Ball trade this summer. There have been rumours that he wants a bigger market and isn't happy with how shit the team continues to be.
- Pat Riley is not sitting back and building around a core of Bam and Herro.
- Sacto can't really run this thing back, can they?

and all of that is before we see who makes a big swing after underperforming in the playoffs. If the Knicks don't make the ECF, I could definitely see them try to consolidate some of those guys getting paid into an elite player. What deficiency will put Houston out of the playoffs and do they look to aggressively fix it now? Milwaukee....they're not going to just waste the rest of Giannis' prime, right? etc.

NBA is the best reality show on the planet, by a lot.

Do you think we are in a position to add a premium talent?
