As for Florida ... welcome to Carolina's shoes from the Eastern Finals in 2023. They have played one bad period but otherwise there's next to nothing between those two teams and yet they go home trailing 2-0. It happens. My advice - get that power play untracked and get a W in Game 3 otherwise you could be looking a sweep that doesn't feel like a sweep.

Bob stood on his head and did everything two years ago against the Leafs and Canes, this time around his .800 something save percentage so far tells a different story.

Let's not forget Dallas has a pretty deep and talented team, they were pretty damn good before he got there so he just makes them that much more dangerous now. I'm sticking with Kevin on the stance that he never wanted to be here and he pouted the whole time he was here so he could be moved, that still is/was and remains shitty in my books and it could have been handled way better.

Fair, but my point wasn't about the goalies. Bob hasn't been great but neither have Toronto's goalies, really. That stuff has evened out. What's left is a razor thin margin. And they've been on the bad side of that margin twice. THAT's the part that reminds me of Canes/Cats '23.
 
The goalies have gotten better and quicker but not at the same rate the players and their equipment has. Players get the shot off quicker and harder than ever before. The lightweight rubber band snapping sticks and the exercise routine. Much like golf where they want to slow the golf ball down They should slow the puck down. Maybe make them go back to straight wood sticks.
 
Weird that when Florida and Toronto are whipping the puck around the zone the commentariat is begging them to just throw the puck at the net and when the Canes just throw the puck at the net, they're being instructed to pass it around for a better shot. It's almost like those people can't make up their minds ... or just feel like they have to issue corrections to what's happening when they'd be better off shutting up
 
Oh ... Rantanen's reign of terror ended last night. Winnipeg got the shutout W to get themselves going in their series with Dallas.
 
Rodrigues comes off his feet to deliver a check to the head on Tavares last night and not even a minor penalty, Bettman is a sick fuck to think that it’s ok to run a league where the primary contact to the head and running goalies is what playoff hockey is all about.

Just watched a clip of that one. Holy Jumpin’! Principal point of contact. Several strides. Opportunity to avoid. Checks a lot of the boxes!!
