"Expert on Alberta Independence"

Based on what?

I'm semi familiar with him. He's a writer for one of the Alberta centric online newspapers. a separatist and a polisci guy from one of the Alberta polisci departments.

Western grievance with an academic air

Probably U of Calgary, where Pee-Pee spent 10 years trying to finish his BA

3 other ordered judicial recounts, only one that the Liberals don't already hold. So we're looking at a minimum of 168, to a maximium of 171 after the recounts.

Yeah, no way for the Libs to get a majority on the recounts alone. Could actually even end up farther away, considering that in the two Liberals wins that are being recounted, the Liberal candidate won by 29 & 12 votes respectively.

In Terrebonne, by comparison, the Bloc candidate was listed at a 44-vote lead before the judicial recount.

If they do end up at 170 or 171 though, it’ll be interesting to see what the strategy is. Just govern as if they do have a majority, negotiate with other parties on a vote-by-vote basis or start pushing hard to find floor crossers that’ll push them over the majority threshold.

If they do go the latter route, I wonder if the CPC might be a more likely target than the NDP. I’d imagine the remaining NDP MP’s are the hardest of the hardcore supporters of the party. Whereas with the CPC, maybe they can find a disgruntled eastern CPC MP or two who’s pissed that the Western wingnuts are still firmly in charge of the party, with Poilievre being kept on as leader and Scheer serving as the interim leader in Parliament.

The other interesting thing if the Libs end up at 171 is that by having one of his MP’s step down so that he can run for their seat, Poilievre will be handing Carney a majority for the duration of the by-election campaign.

Also giving the Speaker's job that Elizabeth May has been angling for gives them a little more margin for error (eg., some Liberal MP for whatever reason..misses a vote due to illness, etc.,).

Quebec medical school students and applicants have been using a public Discord group named 'Med serveur' to post antisemitic, misogynist, and racist content, B’nai Brith Canada revealed on Thursday.

The aspiring doctors reportedly spread Holocaust denial, praised the “Final Solution,” and degraded women in the group of 1,400-plus members.

B'nai Brith screenshotted some of the posts, including one calling for "the Islamist State of Quebec" and another saying "you can trust me as long as you don't have a kippa under your wig." Another post contained a picture of an Orthodox Jewish man with the caption "you gotta look like this during interview time."

“What they were talking about had nothing to do with medicine, except where they were saying that Jews are controlling the application process at McGill and you get bonus points if you’re Black or Indigenous or you should dress up like a Jew for the interview.”

The student added that the fact nobody intervened or stood against what was being posted was the biggest problem, given 1500 is around the number of people applying for medicine in Quebec, and "therefore the (Med serveur membership) is like 99 per cent of the students that are going to be applying to Quebec medical schools.”

I think it will be per piece of legislation, and he'll target whichever party makes the most ideological sense to work with to get it done that keeps that piece of legislation as close to what Carney wants it to be as possible.

Their applications should all be denied and they should be blacklisted from pursuing a medical degree anywhere in Canada (although I'm sure Danielle Smith will be only too happy to welcome them)

Yeah, if May or any of the Dippers wants the job (and I know May had already publicly said that she does), the Liberals should happily support them.
