Why not? Matthews and Marner have shown that both together (every playoffs series) and separately (Four Nations) they are failed superstars. Or at least 2nd tier of the superstars in this league.

I am glad this is happening against a former coach. I'm hoping for another big loss next game so that there is no chance Marner is brought back. I'll take a loss year to reset next year. This franchise under Shanahan has been a definition of insanity. It was time to move on after the Habs' series. Hopefully, this does it.

Posters here say that every year when the Leafs lose and then within 24-48 hours it changes to "Well, obviously we can't lose Marner..."
