Bob saved them in the latter half of the first yesterday. If one of those breakaways is a goal, or that Willy chance, and we’re up 2-0, we probably go on to win it. That’s why I said first goal was so important. But he didn’t give it up.

That's the point yeah. Goaltending in small samples is random. Woll isn't an .880 goalie. But over 7 games he can be. And so can a guy like Bob.
 
Blaming Will would make sense if they lost 3-2 in OT.

They didn’t show up in 2 of the last 3 games. It was pathetic. Goaltending, coaching, depth scoring those are all secondary concerns. Fans of teams with core players that show up in big games get the privilege of complaining about that stuff.
 
Fwiw, .902 to .886 is a 3-4 goal difference in a 7 game series. absolutely is a big part of the difference between who wins and loses.

Yeah but he has been in the past. Because he's not a stud goalie. And neither is woll. Acquiring a goalie like Bob doesn't solve anything because he can shit the bed at any time too. It's 7 games, not 82. Bob had 4 dog shit games btw.

But anyways it's not why they are miserable losers anyway.
 
Its a mistake to put all the blame on the core 4 ( a ton of it does go here) and pretend there is nothing else to address ( there is, and it probably wont be)

More than one thing can be true at the same time. we can need more from the core, and the goaltending can be bad, all at the same time. when you build a team to win 2-1, and you play a style around winning 2-1, you need to get stops.
 
Ok so we would have lost 3-1. Great.

I wish Woll was a major problem. Cause he’s been good in big games in the past and Stolarz was hurt so that’s and easy fix.

Pizza boy did some really good things but ultimately failed in securing depth additions to step up when the top lines weren't producing

And for clarity, I want half of the "core 4" gone, so im hardly excusing them. I just look over at Florida and notice that it wasn't Barkov, Tkachuk, Verhaege, etc beating us. good teams just find a way and don't need their 2-3 top guys to save them over and over. Its hard to find a way with .886 goaltending and half of the forward roster scoring 0 goals
 
The priority is the same as it has been for the last 5 years for me. Get a #1 d. A real #1. Idk how you do it. I know it's not easy. But that's what they need to address more than anything.
