A decade of power play impotence is 100% on the coaches. So is the lack of game planning and adjusting to different opponents. But as long as everyone has jumped on the Pittsburgh Steelers mindset of "a winning record is enough" things will never change. I hope they get swept so Dundon can't make another penny off tickets this season.
 
This is what we were frustrated about mid season. This team has failed to learn how to consistently play good hockey during the regular season for several years and it shows up by getting embarrassed in the playoffs. But we were told everything was fine… that we were overreacting. We face a tough team in the playoffs and we cave.
 
This series is going to leave a stink and a stain, you don’t just lay down like that in a Cup semifinal and not reassess the type of team you have when it comes to toughness and physicality.

I just got back from the bluegrass festival in Carrboro and saw the score. Crap. I hope GMET is working overtime to get this mess sorted out and corrected. Isn't the definition of insanity continuing to do the same thing over & over, yet expecting a different result? It kinda seems like we're there...again.

It's a damn good thing that Freddie got signed on for another year, Huh?

Cowardly gutless team. Fla turned up the physical and goalie let is a softy and we caved and then let them bully us until the buzzer.
 
We're a great regular season team with a hard playoff ceiling a couple big steps short of the goal.

(ETA: 2nd most wins last 6 years is better than "good")

The bullying part is the worst…fix it or fuck off. You have a garage league that encourages it so get with the times!
 
This series has been embarrassing, but I think the level of hysteria isn’t justified. We need some key players, and we’re going to have resources. We need a good scoring winger or two, at least one big 3rd/4th liner (to provide more muscle than Stahl), and we need a skilled big defenseman to replace Burns - we’re going to have Slavin/Chatfield/Nishikin/Morrow/(maybe Walker) and then? And we need a 1A/B goalie.
Coaching is a learning process. We did much better than I expected this year given that we were a really rebuilt squad with newcomers doing better than expected.

It’s not hysteria so stop.

You gotta have team toughness. The whole team let Aho get chased down and body slammed, and Svetch get jumped. We have some big boys like Burns and Staal, Orlov, that watched that and did nothing. That’s a huge problem.

Our top 6 needs rebuilt. You can’t run out a bunch of bantamweights as your talent and think the bottom 6 toughness is going to solve that especially when that toughness is invisible.
 
Okay...vision out. We were not supposed to be a final 4 team after losing Mikko. We overachieved. But this run is showing the holes. From system to players. They FL, got two potential HOF's because LTIR.

We need better net and better scoring. And better judgment from Staff. Did Nikishin look out of place at all tonight? Let people progress.

I can see what you’re saying here. Especially about the coaching learning. I am one though that is so pissed about how this series is going. I’m so tired of being pushed around bigger teams. I’m not saying that’s the only problem, but I also agree with many on this board that we are smallish and when the shenanigans start we don’t have the group to really push back. I thought the team played pretty well in the second. I was shocked by the third period. If the panthers aren’t in the guys heads they are certainly in mine!! Yikes.
 
Florida is a great team built with highly skilled dirty players I don't respect. Tampa Bay is good and the Panthers did to them what they're doing to us. We need a few more players that can play with an edge. But I'd still like to respect my team in the morning. Mo may be a good coach, but I'm really glad he's not ours. And I'll never cheer for the Panthers.
