Laval Rocket Thread

Charlotte is next and they are not as good as Rochester. They beat a very good team and defending champs Hershey.

So Primeau starts games 1 and 2.

While there’s no doubt Primeau has struggled during his time with the Canadiens, he clearly has seized the starter’s job from rookie Jacob Fowler, a late-season addition from Boston College. Laval head coach Pascal Vincent has been rotating Primeau and Fowler, but the latter was removed during Friday’s fourth game after allowing four goals on 14 shots in barely more than 29 minutes.

Primeau appears to have forced Vincent’s hand.

“He’s a good goalie,” Vincent said of Primeau. “Things didn’t go so well in Montreal early this year. He needed to play, came here. I think he has done it in the past. He can play. He’s a good goalie. I’ve said it since I’m here — he’s an NHL goalie. He’s going to be in the NHL. “He’s a good kid. He works hard. His hockey sense is good. You see (Jared) Davidson blocking that shot at the end? I know they would do it for both, but there’s something special about Primeau coming back from the NHL. He’s such an amazing person, and he’s very talented. He had a bad sequence (with Montreal) or whatever happened happened. But the way he responded tells you a lot about the personality of the young man. He’s going to end up in the NHL and he’s going to be good.”

If he doesn’t already use one, Preems should engage a mental coach. Lots of athletes use them, my kids included. No stigma attached to it anymore. Something psychological must be hindering his NHL performance.
