2025-2026 Off Season Thread - The Rehappening

Give me the Boston or Tampa Bay powerplay that was so confident that they could be trailing by 2 goals and still feel like they have a chance in the final 2mins of a game to tie it up.

I wouldn't write off taking a bad contract for nothing given our trade assets, but Kreider looks done.

especially cause he's a guy who relied so much upon his speed
 
Hes more of a replacement for what Tavares does on the PP than he is anything to replace Marner...thats dumb.

Especially when Tavares is less cooked and probably significantly cheaper.

He's actually the most anti-Marner dude you could find. Shoot first, second and third!

Pass never (almost) -- 8 assists all year. Usually doesn't get more than 25 apples.
 
Yeah I don't hate the idea if it's something like Jarnkrok and Kampf going the other way.

More of a Patches replacement than anything else, but one that will actually play more than 6-7 games without dying.
 
Matt Duchene is another strange case pending UFA.

He's been a monster in the regular season the last few years, but a dud in the playoffs. 1 goal in 16 games for Dallas so far here.
 
If Marner is gone they should spend his $14 mill on Ekblad and one of Duchene/Bennett/Nelson, or some other combo of 2c/1D available in a trade.

To spend his money on old wingers makes no sense. The only way you can lose marner and maybe become a better team is if you can get a 3rd line driving center, and the top pairing D they've been missing the entire Core 4 Era.
