It's not "just" being dirty; it's being dirty for a higher purpose. It's about doing whatever it takes. I rarely, if ever, get the sense from watching the Leafs in the playoffs that they are trying to do "whatever it takes". The only time they display emotion is whe they get frustrated and start yelling at each other on the bench. But during the play they just look like they're out for a skate.
