OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

At least a Saboner has a somewhat realistic chance of leading to gratification as opposed to a Giannis hard on which is imaginary and a Durant one which leads to tears.

This is what happens when you get hard from BPM.

BPM adores him and thinks he's a top 10 player. EPM thinks he's just good. M.ePM thinks he's somewhere in between and that his ability to stretch the floor is underutilized in Sacto. Having him go to the nail and direct traffic is a bad use of his skillset. Elite rebounder, great passer, can hit the open 3. Isn't a rim protector but overall his defensive impacts are positive. Would be a pretty big step up from Jake.

Also, 9 +11 could be packaged to move up in the draft or get you a good player in a trade. Plus you have Simmons microwaving off the bench.

Isnt this draft kinda weak? not that im against moving up to 11 at the expense of RJ to Simons and losing Shead

I think so personally, but that doesn't seem to be the consensus. Flagg-Harper are a good but just a good 1-2 compared to most drafts but 3-10 looks weak to me. This kind of reminds me of the 2019 draft tbh, where there was one super hyped guy at the top of the draft (Zion), another potential perennial all star guard as the consensus #2 (Ja), and then a grab bag of guys with upside but with holes in their game/profile.

Fwiw, the rest of the top 10 in 2019 was RJ, De'Andre Hunter, Darius Garland, Jarrett Culver, Coby White, Jaxson Hayes, Rui, & Cam Reddish. 2019 was a pretty heavily hyped draft.
