have to think they asking price was higher if it was Toronto asking.
 
Would it be a conflict of interest if he signs major advertising deals with Rogers and Scotiabank considering the ties to the Leafs?
 
I don’t really get the popular belief that he’s a done deal. If he was so eager to be a Leaf, why didn’t he push to get dealt to us? If he had this kind of playoffs with us and won the cup, the Leafs and everyone else in Toronto would be throwing money at him. Not like zero tax but zero gain Florida.

Florida was the best choice this year if you wanted to win a cup.

Why are you so tuned into Marchand's potential ulterior motives but not Marner's? Because Mitch's are waaaay more obvious.

Marchand isn't the reason you got rolled like winos in the gutter on home ice in Games 5 and 7. The Leafs are a mentally weak and fragile team that needed more than the addition of one 37 year old player to remedy. Everyone outside of the sycophantic Toronto media ecosystem knew the Leafs weren't winning anything this year, and Marchand has beat their asses in the playoffs enough times to filter through the hype and know exactly what they are.

Marchand wanted to win a Cup, not babysit manbabies like Mitch, Auston, and Pyjama Boy.
 
Honestly, I don’t think even Marchand thought he’d be this good during this run… the team was better than they were last yr vs the Oils…. So things are being recalibrated in real time
