Nothing will stop the crash that is coming so stop wasting time and money trying to prevent the unpreventable and just drive it off the cliff and crash it instead of watching it slide slowly down the hill for 3 or 4 years as you try to apply the brakes.

You need to blow it up in a year when you actually have draft picks to rebuild with. Doing it now is the equivalent of setting your house on fire and realizing that you have nowhere to live.

Everyone and his dog is looking to dump picks for players. You could probably trade JT's rights today for a pick, maybe even a 1st rounder. Same with Reilly and Willy. They are assets you can move and get good picks in return not to mention player assets. You just need to be willing to pull the pin.

Those picks from trades would be based upon how bad the teams that you trade with are, not how bad you are.

why are you worried about "wasting" a season or two when it'll be decades before we ever have a core of elite talent again.

Everyone except Florida wasted last season. So what.

Just keep going and be smart in making moves to extend the window.

Losing Marner to free agency is not smart, but hopefully they have some luck fall in their laps this offseason.

JFC. There is no "window" to extend here anymore. It was closed tight and painted shut at the end of the Habs series in 2021. The roster should have been blown up the following day. Delaying the inevitable only prolongs the agony.
