The media sides with ownership because the media often is ownership. Why would Rogers report on a labor dispute in the NHL by taking the side of the players? They own the Leafs and broadcasting Leafs games is revenue for Sportsnet. No games, no money. So they will always try and portray the players as greedy and ungrateful. They will also hint at this or that Canadian team which might have to relocate if costs aren't controlled more strictly. The media gets the fans to be on the owners' side, even to the point of characterizing lockouts by the owners as "strikes", which implies that the work-stoppage was initiated by the players.

That last major stoppage where the 2004-05 season never happened? Yeah, that was a lockout, not a strike. But to this day a lot of fans (too many, probably most of them, even) refer to it as a strike and blame the players for causing it.

Not even close

Marner is borderline elite defensively and sets the pace he wants to play at.

The only similarity - and perhaps the main reason to stay away from ehlers - is that he’s fucking shit in the playoffs. Such shit that he’s even more shit than Marner.
 
Ehlers is good defensively too.

They also only play him 15 mins a game. Someone is going to give him first line minutes and he’ll score a lot more just like Willy.

He does suck in the playoffs though.
