There is no plausible scenario in which the Leafs, with or without Brian Rust, are a threat to win the Cup next season. In light of that, it wont be the end of the world if he moves to the Leafs or doesn't. Next season is a washout either way. The Leafs need to use next season as the beginning of "The Great Reset".

The best comparison trade I could find was a 30 yr old Toffoli signed for 3 more years, for a conditional 1st and a C prospects.
I can't see why a 33 year old version of that would go for even close to that much.

FB just gives me the news from my selected liked subjects the best. The feed is full of hockey and entertainment stuff. Instagram gives me more comedy and philosophy content for whatever reason. I don’t post anything, but the feeds are good.
