OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Jhoan Duran basically went for Trey and Arjun, or close to it. Ryan and Gore have mor value
Ryan's worth a lot, and we can offer a competitive package if they do decide to trade him. I like Gore, but I'd have to see the price first. Maybe you could convince me to give up both of those guys for Ryan, but I don't think I could do that for Gore.

By the way, Nimmala and YeSavage are 1-2 in our system. I don't think you'll see many teams trade their top 2 prospects ... if any.

I think I read Tait and Abel were 4 & 6 in the Philly system on MLB Pipeline - I can't doublecheck because they've already been moved ... to # 4 and 6 in the Minnesota system. Checking Fangraphs shows Tait 5 and Abel 13 in the Philly system - now that was written in January and Abel's stock has gone back up this year, but the point remains.

Why is everyone so prospect tight in baseball? They more than likely don’t become stars. Look at Pearson, Tiedemann, Romero, Barriera. I know two of them are injured and could still become studs but my point being, the Yankees, Red Sox, Astros etc. are never going to be this bad again anytime soon. Now is the time to strike, you had a good draft, those prospects will replenish. You have to take the opportunity when it’s there. If it’s too risk adverse like we’ve seen, we’ll just be perpetually meh as we’ve seen.

I know I may sound extreme at times but it’s just frustrating seeing a golden opportunity pass by because of nerds not wanting their little crush to be traded. Some people were pissed about Austin Martin being dealt, you’d make that deal again and again. Now is not the time to be cheap and patch, you have to greatly improve your team if you’re serious about a deep run.

Nice to see Cincy buying for once ... I don't love Littell but he can play a role, and Ke'Bryan Hayes is interesting if maybe a change of scenery can unlock something with the bat, glove is elite.

So what your saying is, the Phillies system is way better than ours.

Comparing the 1-2 prospects from one system to another is absolute stupidity.

The Phillies have one of the better systems, so do LAD and CHC, which makes this deadline a challenge.

Less extreme and more just ignorant tbh

Yeah, i had no interest in either player, despite SP and 3B being needs, but good for the Reds trying at least.

Our top 2 and their top 2 are comparable. Tait is pretty highly ranked and Abel is a nice prospect, but he kind of looked flamed out until this year. His control has always been bad, he finally got it under control this year but now the K's are down. He's not that far ahead of Kendry Rojas in terms of trade value, unless you really want to overvalue his MLB debut where he was awesome. Nothing special since then, though.
