Why is everyone so prospect tight in baseball? They more than likely don’t become stars. Look at Pearson, Tiedemann, Romero, Barriera. I know two of them are injured and could still become studs but my point being, the Yankees, Red Sox, Astros etc. are never going to be this bad again anytime soon. Now is the time to strike, you had a good draft, those prospects will replenish. You have to take the opportunity when it’s there. If it’s too risk adverse like we’ve seen, we’ll just be perpetually meh as we’ve seen.
I know I may sound extreme at times but it’s just frustrating seeing a golden opportunity pass by because of nerds not wanting their little crush to be traded. Some people were pissed about Austin Martin being dealt, you’d make that deal again and again. Now is not the time to be cheap and patch, you have to greatly improve your team if you’re serious about a deep run.
