OT: Movies/TV Shows

For the last couple of days, I have been asking myself if I should wade into this total misreading of The Bear. And I was like, "Nah, I'm good".

And then Claire was brought up in the "pro" category, and I was like, "Claire? She was the worst part!" They made it very obvious where her role and story were going. This show is not a Rom-Com (maybe Carmy and Syd, but that is a different story). It's like they needed a character with Skyler White x-pac heat for some reason.....
 
but rom-coms are so good tho

story always goes forward, and then gets wrapped up neatly and happily.

what more could you ask for really.
 
I'm near the end of S3 now and it's legit ridiculous what they can pawn off as premium content to the masses and they just eat it up. Most of the episodes are the two fat bros wasting several minutes on this "haunting" bullshit which is the opposite of funny. Do we need 1/3 of the episode to watch them clean the floor or change the lights and banter? As I said before, it's not all "bad" per se, but it's mostly just filler. Just do a quick and dirty scene inventory of an episode - what actually happened that mattered? You'll see that only one or two scenes in the whole episode actually move the story along.

And I'm only watching because I thought this was the opposite of a rom-com. It's interesting that Carmy always liked Claire and now his dream girl is actually in his life but he's pretty broken, and fucked things up one night, and...just ignores the situation all season? Let's see the struggle, let's see some actual action one way or the other. This is shoddy work. Unless you like piss poor slapstick type garbage from the fat bros.
