Funny thing is, this is exactly what the temporary foreign worker program should be for. Bringing in someone with experience, knowledge or qualifications that are necessary for the job and can’t be found in a domestic candidate.

This is making the rounds in the recruitment world. This is crazy this is allowed. I have filled those roles a lot myself. These companies are saving a ton by not hiring a Canadian.

We 100% do. Filling that role is easy. And our high end rail is still not very high end and really outdated compared to the rest of the world.I mean...doesn't this guy make the argument for hiring foreign at the end?
Yeah, it might be okay to admit that we don't have high end passenger rail executives available here.
I get it. That's a concern as well. And that gets more press than this will.. The thing is, with construction of any kind, due to our climate, there is better candidates in Canada likely. The people who come from warm climates who have worked or managed construction projects need to learn the different in builds for 3-5 years. H&S is also way different in North America as well.Im less upset by a high paying niche role going to foreign person (likely cheaper than hiring a foreign consulting firm) than I am seeing all the lower end jobs claiming to pay 36 an hour and then filing for a temp foreign worker after having no intention to even look at local talent.

Metrolinx issues isn't because they hired Canadians for the LRT. From top-to-bottom they are horribly run.

Russia. Right?Mate, we're not the only country on the planet that deals freeze/thaw. Most of Europe deals with it to some degree or another.
